Citation Resources

How can my learners avoid plagiarism and text misuse?

Understanding citations and references can be difficult. There are many different styles for citations, such as the widely used and taught styles of MLA, APA, and Chicago. This page contains links to helpful resources on plagarism and citations. The previous page has some basic information about these three styles

Plagiarism.org

This website has a lot of good information about plagiarism and how to avoid it. It also has more information about these and other citation styles. â€‹

Purdue OWL (Online Writing Lab)

This website has a TON of amazing resources for writing. I would highly recommend using it for more than citations. However, for this is the link to the research and citation resources page and the citation style comparison chart.

A Pocket Style Manual's Online Resources

These come from the online resources from Diana Hacker's book A Pocket Style Manual. I specifically like the model papers and a decision tree for knowing when and how to cite (MLA format).
